The City of Poway operates and maintains the community’s water utility systems. Raw water is purchased from the San Diego County Water Authority and treated at the city-owned and operated Lester J. Berglund Water Treatment Plant then distributed to all Poway customers.
The city maintains the community’s wastewater pipeline system that transports sewage to the City of San Diego’s treatment and disposal facilities.
Several hundred acre-feet of reclaimed water is purchased annually from the City of San Diego for landscape irrigation at the South Poway Business Park.
