Programs and Activities

CIty of Poway docents lead tours for the public on the second and fourth Saturday between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm. 

Friends of the Kumeyaay occasionally offer specialized tours. See below:

Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 - 11:00 am
"Walk in the Park"
Learn about the flora and fauna of Poway, the ancient history of this site, and enjoy a short course in geology. Some trails are not ADA accessible. All ages welcome.

Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am
"Walk in a Native Garden"
Stroll with Docent Suzanne Emery through an intriguing collection of native plants that will amaze you. Learn Kumeyaay names and uses of at least a dozen plants. This level, easy path is ADA accessible and includes a shady ramada.

NATIVE AMERICAN INSPIRED GAMES AND CRAFTS
Saturday, April 1 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Children will paint their own spirit rock, create a Dream Catcher, braid a bracelet, and play games.
Suitable for ages 5-10. $3 per child. Register at www.poway.org/classes.
